The biggest challenge for me is to GET MOVING! I have been doing really well on the treadmill these past few weeks, but I still don't look forward to it and it hasn't become part of my daily routine. While remaining flexible sounds like a good idea, I know that for me, what works best is to have a routine and stick to it. I need to decide if mornings or evenings are a better fit and just make it happen. I know there are some of you who enjoy physical activity...I'm trying to get there, but first I need to push myself. The treadmill is ideal because I don't even have to leave the house and it's right in front of the tv! I'd like to hear from you - ideas or suggestions on making exercise part of your daily routine - what works for you?
Walk on!!!

I'm going to go from dropping the kids off straight to the gym. As Nancy said in her comment to Karen's previous post, "...get it over with."
Either that, or during lunch. At my gym, NFL Total Access comes on around lunch time, so I can catch up on my NFL news while working out.
Also, to help get in a routine, you should subscribe to a podcast or two. Sometimes, I like music, but sometimes, I prefer to listen to a podcast while running/working out. Especially ones about the tv show, LOST (Judy, that's for you) and about Reality TV.
Also, I hear there's this really cool podcast that the American Cancer Society puts out...something about Relay For Life. I haven't listened to it yet, but have heard great things!
Getting up and exercising first thing in the morning is what works for me. Running becomes addictive and I have a hard time skipping a day.. believe me it will come. I was not always a runner though.. I started by walking and then running and slowly making the running longer then the walking. I also work out with a trainer a couple times a week and he is very tough and makes me work out WAY harder then I would on my own. If you can find someone good and not too expensive it is well worth the investment. Another tip I find helps is if I can take a walk after dinner.. nothing too fast but just something to get me off the couch for 30 minutes or so. That is when the lbs really start to drop off! If you have someone to walk with even better (like pushing a baby or babies). Guess I will have to wait to be Grandma Judy for that!
